In Porbandar, India Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2nd 1869. Growing up as a child Mahatma wasn’t always the best student. He did not show any signs that he would grow up to be such a remarkable person in life. It was after Mohandas became a legend when he got his nickname ‘Mahatma’ meaning Great Soul. At age 13 Gandhi was married. When Gandhi went to college he received his first of his four sons. In college, gandhi wasn’t happy. Gandhi lived in South Africa for 21 years studying and working for law. When Gandhi returned back to India in 1916 that was when he realized he wanted to be devoted to peace. Gandhi started many events including peace, such as the peaceful protests. Gandhi was thrown into jail and also took it peacefully by just starving himself instead of fighting. Gandhi's death was by taking two bullets to the chest. His assasinator shot him from 6 feet away. When shot, Gandhi was in his two nieces arms, he folded his hands in praying position and laid back. Gandhi later died in the hospital. Many, many people became inspired by his peaceful ways and actions to become like him.
